A 33kV/11KV Refurbishment of overhead line circuits in Norfolk which comprised of the Installation of 2 x 33kV underground Ducted Circuits and 2 x 11kV underground Ducted Circuits.
The existing 33kV circuits were combined with the 11kV circuit as a ‘triple circuit’ configuration on a ‘H Pole’, with the 11kV line running parallel to the triple circuit line over this route.
The new installation of underground circuits also required new cabling to extend existing circuits to new termination points of Ring Main Units (RMUs) and Transformers (TXs).
The undergrounding cable trench was mainly routed through Agricultural areas and up to 1.6mts wide to accommodate the circuits.
13 x Joint bays were constructed along the route and Approximately 31,800mts of cable installed.
The project duration was approximately 1 year and was completed on time.
